Pawrelic creates personalized pet keepsakes and operates pawrelic.com. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and share personal information when you browse our store, place an order, submit a pet photo, or contact us. Our store is powered by Shopify.

Personal information means information that identifies you or can reasonably be connected to you. If another store policy conflicts with this policy on personal information, this policy applies to that issue.

1. Information We Collect

The information we process depends on how you use our store. It may include:

  • Contact and delivery details: your name, email, phone number, and billing and shipping addresses.
  • Order and payment details: purchases, chosen options, payment method, transaction confirmations, returns, and order history. Payment information is processed through our checkout providers; do not send card details by email.
  • Personalization materials: pet photos, pet names, engraving text, and instructions you submit for your keepsake.
  • Account and support information: account identifiers, preferences, messages, and materials you provide when asking for help.
  • Device and browsing information: IP address, browser and device details, cookie identifiers, pages and products viewed, cart activity, and interactions with our store.

2. Where Information Comes From

We receive information directly from you when you order, upload materials, use an account, subscribe, or contact us. We also receive information automatically through cookies and similar technologies, and from Shopify and providers that support payments, shipping, store operations, analytics, and advertising.

3. How We Use Information

  • Make and deliver your keepsake: review your photo, confirm personalization, process payment, create your order, and arrange shipping.
  • Keep you informed: send order updates, packaging videos, shipping confirmations, and responses to support, return, or refund requests.
  • Operate and improve the store: maintain accounts, remember preferences, understand site use, and improve products and shopping features.
  • Marketing: send promotional communications where permitted and with consent when required, and help measure or personalize advertising, subject to your privacy choices.
  • Security and legal obligations: prevent fraud, protect our services, maintain necessary records, resolve disputes, and respond to valid legal requests.

4. Pet Photos and Custom Orders

Photos and personalization details you submit are used to create, check, and support your custom order. They may be accessible to the people and service providers involved in these tasks. Please submit only materials you have permission to use, and avoid including unnecessary personal or sensitive details.

If we would like to feature your submitted photos or personal story in Pawrelic marketing, we will ask for your permission separately.

5. When We Share Information

We may share information with Shopify and providers that help with checkout, payment processing, hosting, file storage, production, customer support, analytics, and delivery. We may also share information with advertising partners, when you ask us to share it, to comply with law or protect rights, or as part of a business transfer such as a sale or merger.

Sharing device and browsing information for advertising can be considered a “sale,” “sharing,” or “targeted advertising” under some US state privacy laws. Your options are explained below.

6. Shopify and Our Store

Shopify hosts our store and processes information about your visits and purchases to provide and improve its services. Information submitted to our store is shared with Shopify and supporting providers, including providers in other countries.

We use Shopify Network Intelligence and enhanced services. These features use information from your interactions with Pawrelic, other merchants, and Shopify to support security, advertising, and personalization. Shopify is responsible for its processing for these purposes and related privacy requests.

7. Cookies and Advertising Choices

Our store and its partners, including Shopify, use cookies and similar technologies for essential shopping functions, preferences, analytics, and advertising. Where a cookie banner is displayed, use it to manage your choices for non-essential technologies. You can also control cookies through your browser; blocking them may affect store features.

Visit Your Privacy Choices to learn about opting out of sale, sharing, or targeted advertising where applicable. You can also email us with an opt-out request.

Where applicable, a Global Privacy Control signal is treated as an opt-out request for the browser and device sending it. Where it can be associated with your Shopify account, the request also applies to that account. Other “Do Not Track” browser signals are not recognized.

8. Security and Retention

We use reasonable safeguards to protect personal information, but no storage or transmission method is completely secure. Keep account access details private and avoid sending sensitive information through unsecured channels.

We retain information as needed to fulfill orders, provide support, maintain accounts, meet tax and other legal requirements, prevent fraud, and resolve disputes. Retention depends on the type of information and the purpose for keeping it; deletion requests remain subject to applicable exceptions.

9. Your Privacy Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access or obtain a copy of your information, correct inaccuracies, request deletion, or opt out of certain advertising-related uses. You may also have rights to object to or restrict processing and withdraw consent. Withdrawing consent does not affect processing that was lawful before withdrawal.

Email us to make a request. We may need to verify your identity and, if an authorized agent acts for you, their authority. We will respond within the timeframe required by applicable law and will not discriminate against you for exercising your rights.

You can unsubscribe from promotional emails using the link in those messages. We may still send order, account, or other service communications.

10. Children’s Information

Our store is intended for adults, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. A parent or guardian can contact us to request deletion of information a child has provided. We do not knowingly sell or share personal information about individuals under 16 for targeted advertising.

11. Third-Party Links

Links to social platforms, payment services, or other websites may lead to services operated by others. Their privacy policies govern information you provide there. Information you post publicly, such as a review or social media comment, may be visible to other people.

12. International Processing

We operate from China, and Shopify and other providers may process information in the United States and other countries outside your country of residence. Where required for transfers from the EEA or UK, we rely on appropriate safeguards, such as recognized contractual clauses, or another lawful transfer mechanism.
